Kat Von D Monarch Palette - First Impression and Swatches
OK everyone, she's here! And I'm in love. I finally took the plunge and bought the Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette during the VIB sale. I am SO happy that I did.
First, let's talk about some specifics of the palette. It includes 12 warm colors that are .095oz in size (the top three, which look bigger than the rest are also listed as .095oz). According to Sephora's website, they are triple-milled (you can tell when you touch them), and are infused with antioxidants including rose extract and vitamins A, C, and E.
Now that we got that out of the way, time to admire the beauty that is this palette. Before I sat down to write this post, I obviously swatched and took photos of the shadows. What I didn't know is why the heck these things feel so soft and are so amazingly pigmented. Apparently, that would be the "tripled-milled" part that I never read before on the description of this palette.
I actually have not worn any of the shadows on my eyes. I've just played around with swatching and holy crap, you guys! Every shadow has the same soft, velvety feeling and seriously, my jaw was hitting the floor while testing these out. This may be the best quality palette that I own so far and definitely the most consistent from shade to shade.
Every shadow is so soft and smooth, I could not believe it. The colors are incredibly vibrant. They look almost the same in the pan as they do on my arm, which is impressive, to say the least.
I can't wait to play around and create some looks with these colors. I'm so glad that I got this for the remainder of fall, but I can definitely see myself wearing a lot of these colors throughout the year.
I'm almost tempted to pick up the Chrysalis palette, since I know how great these eyeshadows are. But, for now, I'm super content with what I have.
