Nails of the Day - Essie's No More Film and Mochacino
Last week I was perusing the Essie section at Target, because obviously (haha) I needed some new nail polish in my life. Every since I saw Fleur haul Essie's On a Silver Platter, I've been on the hunt for it. I finally found it at Target (you'll see this closer to the holidays), and while I was there, these other two colors (No More Film and Mochacino) caught my eye. I've been really attracted to neutrals and cool colors recently. Both of these colors are really unique and I don't have any like them in my collection. I couldn't decide which to put on today, so I said "why not both?", and now you get a 2 for 1 review today :)
I don't own very many Essie polishes at all, but so far all of my experiences have been good. No More Film was no exception- it was an absolute dream to work with. The formula was thin but applied with no patchiness or sheerness. I could have left those nails with just one coat and it would have looked the same. I have to say, I was surprised by how dark this polish is. It looks almost black at times, whereas it definitely looks like a dark purple in the bottle. I'm totally OK with this. I love how this color turned out.
Mochacino turned out differently than I anticipated as well. The formula was thicker, and the color was patchy after the first and second coat. I had to do 3 coats to build up and get a consistent color. However, I still really like how it turned out! The color is a very warm gray with a silver shimmer. It's a great option when you want a simple nude, but still want your nail color to be unique.
I'm not entirely sure that I loved the way these look together, since there is such a stark contrast between the colors. However, I will absolutely be using these for full manicures in the near future, and I know that No More Film will be a staple this winter.
What are you wearing on your nails this week?
