Kat Von D - Esperanza Palette and Ink Liner
I really don't know how this happened, but in recent weeks I've become so obsessed with the Kat Von D line at Sephora. I've always thought that the palettes were really pretty but I have never really stopped and decided to try any of it. That has all changed, my friends. Right now there are 3 palettes I have been swooning over, but the Esperanza palette caught my attention the most. It is a unique palette and so beautiful. It features saturated springy colors, and really no neutrals to speak of. The palette quickly goes from purple to teal to coral, and there's only 8 colors. It's really quite amazing. Along with these new palettes, the Ink Liner was also released. It is a felt tip liner, which I have come to love so very much.
This palette is extremely versatile and fun. I love the range of colors! I mean, how many neutrals do I need in a limited edition palette, when I already own several neutral palettes? I love that this palette just gets me the fun shades that I want without the filler shades that I don't need. In general, formula is quite soft and pigmented. You do have to build up the color to get the same tones as you see in the pictures below, but they are really beautiful in the softer, lighter applications as well.
Let's talk about that liner for a sec. That stuff is SO good. The felt tip makes it easy to apply, and let's be honest, I need all the help I can get. But look how dark and amazing that formula is. The problem that I find with felt tip liners usually is that they dry out or do not give a crisp, consistent line as you are drawing. How frustrating to have to keep going over your line to make it solid! In fact that is usually what messes me up with liner. This liner does not have that problem, one stroke (giggity) and you have a solid, black line. It's a beautiful thing. OH and once dry, this stuff does not budge. I even had a hard time washing off the swatch with soap and water when I was done taking photos.
I'd say that I've had a pretty good experience so far with my Kat Von D purchases. These two products have set the standard high for any future endeavors. That said, I still have my eye on the other two palettes, Chrysalis and Monarch.
Let me know if you've tried anything from the Kat Von D line from Sephora and what you have liked! If you are trying to find this palette, I'm so sorry, but it may be sold out at this point. It does say sold out online, but you may be able to find it in stores. Regardless, I will link the other products below.
