Nails of the Week- Lime Crime's Once in a Blue Mousse
Ok, now that you've all looked as some adorable kittens, let's talk about nails. This week I'm trying out Lime Crime polish for the first time. I picked up two colors recently, Once in a Blue Mouse and Peaches and Cream. Both are amazing springy colors. The one I'm wearing this week is like a grayish medium vintage blue. It reminds me of a blue you'd see in some vintage floral prints paired with lace, or something like that.
A few things about this polish--
1. I had trouble with the brush. I have no idea why, maybe it was just a bad painting day, I felt like the brush was sort of unruly. Let me attempt to describe this... You know how when you paint your nails the brush usually tapers on the edges? So that way when you run the brush near your cuticles, you don't paint them up terribly. Well this brush does not really do this. It's pretty thick throughout the whole thing. It deposits plenty of opaque color on your nails, but it's sort of a mess. At least, this was my experience.
2. The color payoff in exchange for the crappy brush was pretty worth it. When I was done painting and it looked like I was a five year old painting my nails, I was a little sad. However, when all was said and done, the color was really beautiful and is completely opaque. I used two coats to cover my nails but it was almost opaque in one coat. I am totally head over heels in love with this gray creamy blue.
All in all, I'm loving this product.
10/10 for color and formula, and about a 6/10 for the brush. Let me know what you all think! What are you wearing on your nails? and have you tried any Lime Crime products?
