Lorac Pro Palette 2 - First Impression and Swatches
This palette is seriously a thing of beauty. I'm so so excited to have the brand new Lorac Pro Palette 2 in my life. It seems that I jump on the bandwagon a little late. I never purchased the first version of this palette even though I can close SO many times. When I saw there was going to be a second one of this I decided to jump on it. I ordered this on Ulta.com, it will be available in stores on the 29th but I wanted it a bit early.
First of all, Lorac has (thankfully) refined their packaging to this nice sleek cool gray palette. Whenever I see the original in stores I cringe a bit at the powder all over that black packaging. It's a mess. Hopefully this version will stay a bit cleaner.
The palette contains 16 (!) colors for $42, 8 matte and 8 shimmer shades. I think it has the perfect mix of neutral colors with some fun ones mixed in. I'm sure I will use the neutral colors a lot more, but I love the fact that I have purple, navy and olive green on hand in case I want to change it up a bit. To me, the shimmers steal the show. Every single one of the shimmer swatch beautifully.
I haven't gotten a chance to use these yet, I just got my order today! But I wanted to get you guys some swatches. I was too excited to wait!
First impression is that the shimmers dominate the mattes. There are some very practical mattes, but Buff is barely visible on my skin tone and some of the others look like I have a bad bruise. I'll have to play around with them, but there are definitely so good crease shades. I'm not too sure about the plum and navy, it's not as creamy and smooth as some of the others. We shall see!
Hope you all have a great weekend! Let me know what you think about this palette. Are you going to get it??
The Lorac Pro Palette 2 should be available in Ulta stores tomorrow, but it definitely is available online here
