Nails of the Week - Maybelline Color Show - Dust of Bronze
I've had a little bit of a hiatus from blogging, sorry for that. I'm back and breaking the ice with a nails of the week post. This week I've discovered an extremely affordable lacquer line from Maybelline. I know people have been talking about the Color Show polishes for quite some time, but for some reason I haven't felt compelled to try them out. Yesterday I was at Walgreen's and finding tons of great deals, included these polishes. They are already very affordable at $3.99, but they were also buy one get one half off.
With summer brings bright, vibrant colors, which is all that I have been reaching for lately. However, I must be I craving a change of pace because the bronze and gold shades really stood out to me. These polishes come in a smaller quantity than most at .23 Fluid Ounces (Essie and Butter London are around .4 fluid ounces), which is probably why they are more affordable. I am actually really ok with this, since I can't remember ever finishing a bottle of nail polish.
Dust of Bronze is the one I decided to try first. In terms of formula, the polish is quickly watery/liquidy. It applies quite sheer, I think the color would have been ok with 2 thin coats, but I did 3 just that it would be completely opaque. The brush is quite nice, I had no trouble with application at all. I definitely recommend this product. Hopefully it stays nice and doesn't chip. I have only had it on for a day, so I will have to report back and let you know how long it lasts.
I purchased these at Walgreen's, but they should be available wherever Maybelline is sold
Hope you all are having a good weekend.
