Haul! Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, Urban Decay Naked Skin and more!
This post is going to be heavy on the photos... I hope this is ok with you. I bought some exciting things and I just had to show you guys! It's taken me a long time to get on the bandwagon of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, but no longer. I have it, I'm skeptical about it, but I think we may turn out to be good friends.
So as you can see, Too Faced sucked me in but then I got caught in the web of traps in Sephora. I picked up a few other things... I'm not going to describe them at length, I'll just let the photos speak. I've only swatched all these so far, so I don't have a fully formed opinion yet of any of these. Please let me know if you would like any full reviews of any of these and I'll make sure to do that.
I've swatched the Urban Decay Naked Skin almost every time I've been in Sephora or Ulta for the past month or so. The thing that about this foundation is that it is SO light. It's really thin and runny as you pump it out, but then it blends out to a beautiful medium'ish coverage. A little goes a long way!
Ever since I saw the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor eyeshadows on Ashley's blog/youtube, I've been dying to get my hands on one (or all). They are quite pricey, $18 each, so this is definitely a treat. I got the shade Polynesian Purple and it is so beautiful. It's opaque in one swipe, and lasts forever on the lid. I'm so excited to pair this with the chocolate bar palette.
My nearby Ulta has recently started carrying the full line of IT cosmetics. I've heard really great things about many of their products, especially their concealers. When I swatched the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in store, my jaw hit the floor. The coverage is crazy, they aren't kidding with labeling it fully coverage AND waterproof.
Last but definitely not least... The amazing Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. My will power could no longer hold out, I had to have this today. I'm not really even sure why, I didn't NEED another neutral palette in my life. I really think it was my friend Marianna's most recent video. Her eye look is out of this world and when I asked what it was she told me it was all her chocolate bar palette. That was the last straw, I knew I had to have it!
Just from swatching, I can tell that these shades are very different from the other neutral palettes that I already own. 6 of the shades are matte, 10 are shimmery. This palette is definitely on the warm side as far as the browns and gold go. There are also some fun colors thrown in to mix things up.
The second half of the palette has some of the more fun shades: pinks, violets and a lot of shimmer. I can't wait to try out some looks with this palette, there is so much you could do with it. Some of the shades are not as pigmented, as you can tell in the swatches. Candied Violet, which I was really excited about, turned out to be really sheer. You can build it up, but I wish some of them were a bit more pigmented.
Overall, I'm super excited about all the things I picked up today. Again, let me know if you'd like a full review on any of these products. I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say about them in the coming months.
