Let's Talk... Lipsticks (my recent top 5)

Let's Talk... Lipsticks (my recent top 5)

Hello ladies (and any guys reading)!

Let's talk about some lipsticks, shall we? Now, here's the thing, I'm not really into lip products that much. I have always loved eye products more than any other makeup, with lipstick not even being a close contender. I'm really not sure why this is, I just don't really enjoy the feeling of having gooey stuff on my lips. No matter what is on my lips I'm constantly thinking about it the whole time it's there, even lip balm (maybe I have a problem).

With all of that said, I recognize that lipstick/lipgloss is what can pull a whole look together. I don't think that my makeup looks done without having something on my lips. So I have compiled a small list of lipsticks that I can tolerate and sometimes even enjoy wearing. Here they are!

Left to Right: YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 15, Too Faced Le Creme in Naked Dolly, MAC Plumful, Too Faced Le Creme in Spice Spice Baby, Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Manic

Too Faced Le Creme in Naked Dolly

Awhile back I bought a set by Too Faced that had 2 la creme lipsticks, a lip liner and lip primer. Both of these lipsticks are still favorites of mine and are on this list. Naked Dolly is the perfect nude for me. I can slap this on really easily without a mirror and as the name suggests, it's extremely creamy and moisturizing.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 15 (Corail Intuitive)

Of course YSL is on almost everyone's list for favorite lipsticks. From the packaging, to the color, to the smooth formula, to the peach scent, this lipstick is just fantastic. I would love to buy more of these, but the price... oof. This one will be on a break for the fall since it is more of spring color, but this is definitely one of my favorites that I own.

Too Faced Le Creme in Spice Spice Baby

Here is the other lipstick that came in this awesome Too Faced set. This one is definitely fall appropriate, as it is a darker nude with more of an orangey spicey tone. I think of the 5 lipsticks listed here, Spice Spice Baby suits my skin tone the best. Too Faced lipsticks are just nice to wear and I'm not sure why I don't own more of these.

MAC's Plumful

I know I've talked about MAC's Plumful before, but I just like it so much it needed to be on this list. It's easy to wear, the color is moderately bold and it goes well with most eye looks. This is actually the only MAC lipstick I own (gasp!) but it's definitely a great one to have. I reach for this product more than all of the others combined. It's my favorite "going out for lunch / dinner / shopping" shade.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Manic

Oh. Urban Decay Manic I'm so glad I bought you on a whim. This color. It's so dramatic and beautiful. I think this will be my go-to lipstick this fall. Urban Decay says that it is a "sheer wine" color, but personally I would describe it as more of a brick red. It is a deep red with brown undertones. It has no berry to it (which is what "wine" makes me think of). Either way, I think it's a beautiful bold color that is perfect for fall.

I will probably be wearing the last three all fall long, depending on if I do any more lipstick shopping (after my no-buy of course)... Please do let me know what your favorites are! I have such a hard time finding lipsticks that suit me well and I'd love to hear what works for you.
