2014 Reading Wrap-Up and 2015 Goals
In 2014, I rediscovered my love of reading. I always have loved it, but after I finished college I was in a major slump, burnt out from all the required school reading. At the beginning the year, I signed up for the Goodreads challenge and set my goal for 30 books. I thought that was a pretty reasonable goal and turns out, it was about perfect. I finished the year with 31 completed books. However, there was a definitely slump in the middle of the year where I didn't feel like reading AT ALL. This may be a combination of trying to balance a new job with my blog and having free time. This year, I'm completely obsessed with watching booktubers and therefore I'm pumped about reading again. I hope you guys are ok with it, because I'll definitely be talking about it here!
So to wrap up 2014, I wanted to let you know all the books I read this year:
Sometime soon... probably this week, I'll be posting a top 10 from the above books. Stay tuned for that!
Now, on to my goals for 2015. First, I'm upping my challenge to 52 books- 1 book per week. I feel like this is completely doable as long as I stay as motivated as I feel now. I've already completed 2 books since Jan. 1st, so I'm a little ahead of the game. If you're interested in keeping up with my progress-- Add me on Goodreads.
I've also decided to make this year's challenge a bit more interesting by incorporating the PopSugar Reading Challenge. I already went through everything in my to-read list and put them into a google doc with each of the 50 random book requirements in this challenge.
To the right are some examples of the types of things in the challenge. Let me know if you would be interested in seeing what books I'll be reading for this, I could make a page dedicated to that. *edit* I did this! Keep up with my progress here!
My last reading goal for 2015 is to just avoid falling into the same kind of slump that I had last year. Just by incorporating these fun goals and keeping up with booktube seems to be helping that a lot. I just need to not get overwhelmed by my TBR pile.
If you have any reading goals for 2015, let me know about them! I know I have some book lovers out there and we need to stick together!
