Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick: Review and Swatches
I know lately I've been focused a lot more on the bookish side of my blog, but I still do love all things beauty. Today I wanted to show you all this lovely Charlotte Tilbury quad. After using and loving The Dolce Vita and The Vintage Vamp, I wanted to pick up a more neutral quad that I can wear for more everyday looks. Gray and silver have been my favorite colors to wear on my eyes for many years, so I couldn't resist picking up The Rock Chick palette with a Nordstrom gift card I had. Just like the other Charlotte Tilbury shadows I reviewed, these are amazing quality. They blend out easily, have barely any fallout, and last all day. Somehow, I was lacking in grays from my other palettes, so I've been reaching for this almost everyday.
The finishes of the shadows in this quad are very similar to the ones in The Dolce Vita, as a source of comparison. The "Prime" and "Enhance" shades are both satin finishes. The prime shade tends to catch the light more and therefore appears to have more shimmer in it than the darker one, but in the pan they have about the same. The "Pop" or glitter shade looks to have chunks of glitter in the pan, but when you swatch it, it's very opaque and cohesive. Lastly, the "Smoke" shade is definitely all matte, but has a very smooth finish.
Over the weekend of my birthday my hubby surprised me with a weekend trip and I had no problem with only bringing this quad. It's my new favorite neutral palette, and it is definitely more fun than your typical tans and beiges.
